What happens to my rental RV’s security deposit if I cancel my trip?

If you are outside of the ‘cancellation period’ zone (usually) 30-45 days then you may be charged a nominal fees and get your refund back. If you are within this cancellation period zone i.e. close to your RV rental dates then you may not lost most or all of your security deposit.

CruiseAmerica seems to have the best policy wherein you can cancel up to 7 days prior to your pick-up date and get all of your security deposit (downpayment) back.

Local RV Dealers – Usually they have the most strict cancellation policy, in most cases they need 45 days of advance notice and still charge about $100 as cancellation fees.
